Stow is a small upholstered box on four brass legs. The top lifts away in one piece and the whole body underneath is empty, lined and ready to be filled.

The sides are faux fur, drawn into deep vertical channels so the pile stands up in ridges rather than lying flat. Oat, Ink or Mint.

Why the pile stands up

The channels

A flat panel of long-pile fur reads as a shapeless lump the moment there is any light on it. Stitching it down at intervals forces the fur into raised ridges, and the ridges give the light something to catch — which is the whole reason this looks like a piece of furniture rather than a beanbag.

It has a practical side too. Fur held in place by seams has far less room to matt and flatten where you sit.

One box, no compartments

What goes inside

The cavity runs the full footprint and is lined in dark fabric, which is a kinder background for tangled things than a pale one. Scarves, spare bedding, knitting, chargers, a hair dryer and its cable, the toys that are technically still in rotation.

There are no dividers and no tray. If you want order in there, put a small basket inside — anything you drop in loose will end up as one layer.

Is the fur real?
It's a synthetic pile, and always has been — no animal is involved at any point, which is worth saying plainly rather than leaving to the word faux in a spec line.
Can I wash the cover?
There's no removable cover or zip — the fur is fixed to the shell, so cleaning means treating a mark where it happens. If that's a dealbreaker, Ink hides marks best.
Does it arrive assembled?
The body is finished; the four legs screw on. No tools, no fittings bag to lose, a couple of minutes on the floor and it is done.
Will the pile flatten where I sit?
Some, yes. Any long pile does. A hand run against the lie of it brings the fibres back up, and that is genuinely all the maintenance it asks for.
