A big wall is the hardest thing in a room to solve: too small looks like an accident, too solid turns the wall into a slab. Forum is properly large at 40 cm but open-framed, so it claims the space without closing it.

Two finishes — Matte Black reads as drawn lines on a pale wall; Antique Gold, an aged brass with a dark wash sitting in the recesses, warms a deeper one.

Care

Dust it with a dry soft brush or a microfibre cloth. The open frame collects far less than a glass-fronted clock, but the top edges of the raised numerals will show a fine line of dust after a few weeks. Do not spray anything at it — liquid runs down the spokes and pools against the movement housing behind the hub. Never use solvents, abrasive cream or a melamine sponge on the Antique Gold, because the dark wash sitting in the recesses is what gives that finish its depth and it will lift straight off. If the clock starts running slow it is the battery in almost every case, so change the AA before assuming anything worse, and take the cell out if it is going into storage for more than a few months.
