Overview

A tealight on its own is a dot of light. Inside Flare™ it becomes an event: the curved ribs catch the flame and fan it outward, throwing slow, warm shadow-lines across the tabletop and up the wall — the closest thing to a fireplace you can carry in one hand. Each holder arrives flat and slots together in about ten minutes, the pieces pressing into place with a satisfying firmness — no glue, no tools, no hardware. The candle sits low in a cradle at the centre, its own metal cup catching every drop of wax, with the wooden ribs curving well clear of the flame. Three sizes cluster beautifully; the set of three is how it appears in most of our rooms.

Care

Dust with a dry cloth or a soft brush between the ribs. Use tealights in their metal cups only, keep the flame below the rib line, and never leave a burning candle unattended — or use LED tealights for completely carefree glow. Keep away from drafts, curtains and enthusiastic pets.

Materials

Precision laser-cut birch plywood in a warm walnut-tone finish, left matte so it reads as furniture rather than craft kit. The interlocking rib construction needs no fasteners, and the centre cradle fits any standard Ø 3.8–4 cm tealight — wax or LED.

One tealight, a room of shadow-play

Drop in a single tealight and Flare's cut-wood flames cast flickering shadow-play across the wall — one small flame doing the work of a dozen candles.

What Flare does — key benefits

Light that dances, not just sits

Warmth that moves

Because the flame flickers behind carved wood, the shadows breathe and shift — the difference between a lit room and a room that feels alive.

Flare trio glowing on a live-edge coffee table in a Japandi living room

A sculpture on the shelf by day

Beautiful, lit or not

Unlit, it's a clean sculptural object that earns its place on a mantel or shelf. Lit, it's the reason everyone in the room goes quiet.

The shadows are the real product

One tealight in the large one and our dining wall looks like it has a fireplace. The rib pattern moves with the flame — guests always go quiet for a second when we light it.

Assembled all three over coffee

I was braced for flat-pack misery and it was honestly pleasant — the ribs press in with a firm click and the finished thing feels rigid, not crafty. Ten minutes each, no glue.

Bought one, came back for the set

The medium lived on our sideboard for a month, then I ordered the trio for the patio table. We use LED tealights outside and it still throws the same lovely rib shadows at dusk.

Frequently asked questions

Is it hard to assemble?
No — each holder is a set of laser-cut ribs that press into two locking rings. Expect about ten relaxed minutes per holder, no glue and no tools. Numbered pieces and instructions are in the box.
Is a wooden candle holder safe with a real flame?
The tealight sits low in a centre cradle, in its own metal cup, with the ribs curving well away from the flame. Treat it like any candle: stable surface, no drafts, never unattended. LED tealights give the same glow with zero worry.
Which size should I choose?
Small suits a windowsill or nightstand, medium a dining table or sideboard, large a console or floor moment. The set of three clustered at different heights is the look you see in our photos.
What candles does it fit?
Any standard tealight, Ø 3.8–4 cm, wax or LED, in its metal cup. Taller votives and pillar candles are not recommended — the flame should stay below the rib line.
Can I use it outdoors?
On a sheltered patio table, yes — wonderful at dusk. It is untreated interior plywood, so bring it in from rain and damp nights.
How does it ship?
Flat. The ribs ship in a slim protective box — which is also why a sculptural piece this size can travel safely and arrive flawless.
